Santiago Serape
Knitting pattern PDF only
This is a blanket that I originally designed for my son James. He was born in El Paso, Texas, where I lived for 2 years while my husband was stationed at Fort Bliss. I loved the culture and our time there and was always inspired by the southwestern motifs and Mexican blankets. I decided to design a knitted baby blanket version of a serape, and this is it! It’s both durable and machine washable.
Yardage requirements: Approximately 450 yards (411 meters) of each color
Gauge: 30 stitches and 34 rows = 4 inches in linen stitch
Techniques used: Linen stitch, fairisle, knit, purl, cast on, bind off.
